It was a bit like Teeter’s inedible sounding “Sum Bits”: a dish that included every part of the cow, eyeballs and all a lumpy stew of storylines that didn’t quite mesh into an appetising whole. Low-stakes scenes played out with almost no impact on the wider story as a whole, while potentially explosive encounters and revelations came and went in a brief and perfunctory manner. There was something inert about last week’s episode of Yellowstone. Major spoilers follow for Yellowstone episodes 1 to 4.
